Tomahawk hockey lost to Marshfield 6-4 at the last game on Tuesday, Nov. 29.

“Well, tonight we ended up on the losing side of the scoreboard. We had some moments of brilliance, and some of them not as great. Overall the boys are improving, we just need to find our groove on the ice,” said Coach Chris Bembinster.

In the first period, Marshfield scored one; in the second period Tomahawk scored two, but Marshfield scored four to go up 5-2 going into the third period. Nevertheless in the third period the Tomahawk hockey boys tallied two goals while Marshfield added one to bring the final score to 6-4.

Tomahawk goalies were Number 1, Shawn Dirkx, who had a total of 27 saves and five goals allowed in 42 minutes of play; Number 30, Malik Rider, with a total of one saves, one goal allowed and who played five minutes. Tomahawk had 19 shots on goal.

In the second period, Number 14, Hunter Jones, scored at 9:41; and Number 16, Jordan Tomaszewski, assisted by Number 7, Aaron Evans, scored at 9:57. In the third period Evans scored at 3:12, and Jones at 13:12.

Despite the result, the coach was optimistic: “The best part for me, the boys are looking to minimize our mistakes and play more as a team. We hope this was a small wake up call for them, and we keep improving at a high pace!” said Bembinster.
