In the Lite expands with new office, showcase

In the Lite, LLC owners Dan and Bonnie Langhoff have expanded its home-based business by adding office space that also showcases the products the company can install.

The Langhoffs have been running the electrical contracting business from their home at N3543 Cty. K, north of Merrill, for the past 10 years. Now with a staff of nine – three in the office and six in the field – they decided it was time to take their business to a new level.

“They were initially working out of their home, but with the growth of the business they needed office space dedicated to it,” said Sasha Everett, communication director for the company. “We want people to know we’re out here.”

Designed by Bonnie Langhoff, the new addition houses much-needed office space for staff, while giving customers a first-hand look at the latest in home and commercial lighting. From LED lighting that changes colors at the touch of a button, to automated shades, the addition is wired to show off what In the Lite can do for a customer’s home or business. There are a multitude of lighting demonstrations that can be shown right in the In the Lite office, with the whole system wired to be controlled by a smartphone.

“There’s something about coming in and playing with the controls and seeing how it works,” Everett said.

The addition features LED lighting inside and out, in various applications including rope, can and soffit lighting. The initial investment in LED lighting has come down recently and they save money on electric bills over the long run, Everett explained.

In the Lite also installs automated lighting and shades, which are all built into the new addition for customers to see.

“We’ve always been here, we’re just making ourselves more of a presence,” said master electrician Dan Langhoff. “This is a spot for people to come and see what we do. A picture is worth 1,000 words and this gives us a little bit of a showcase.”

The company does full-service electrical work and installations for both new construction and retrofit into existing buildings. In addition to complete residential and commercial electrical services, other services include generators, computer networks and in-floor heating.

In the Lite is a true family business; five of the nine staff members are related in one way or another.
