Tomahawk man killed in cycle crash

On Sunday at approximately 6:48 p.m. deputies from the Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office responded along with Tomahawk EMS and Tomahawk Fire to a single motorcycle crash on Curve Inn Road, just east of Cty. S. The information received was that the motorcycle had a single occupant that was injured and was not wearing a helmet.

Upon arrival at the scene, 61-year-old Kenneth E. Ludwick of the Tomahawk area, was located next to his motorcycle. He was not conscious, but had a heartbeat.

Tomahawk EMS requested that a medical transport helicopter respond to the scene. Spirit Helicopter out of Rhinelander responded to the scene. Ludwick died at the scene of his injuries and was ultimately transported to Generations Funeral Home in Tomahawk per the request of his next of kin. Lincoln County Coroner Paul Proulx responded to the scene and pronounced Ludwick dead.

Speed and alcohol are believed to be contributing factors in the crash, according to the Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office, which is investigating the crash.
