On the evening of Friday August 26, an officer responded to a shoplifting complaint at a local store. Upon arrival, officers met with store staff who indicated 26-year-old Ashley Wald had been attempting to push carts full of items past the point of sale and out of the store. Staff indicated Waid did not have permission to remove the items from the store and had not paid for the items.
According to officer notes, it was later determined total value of the items exceeded $500 and Waid was taken into custody on a charge of Felony Retail Theft.
Wald appeared in Lincoln County Circuit Court on August 29 facing the felony charge and was released on $1,000 signature bond.
