Matthew D.D. Purmal of Merrill has been selected for inclusion on the Dean’s List for academic achievement during the Spring 2016 semester at St. Lawrence University. Purmal is a member of the Class of 2018. He attended Merrill High School.

Hunter Dowds, son of Matthew and Nicala Dowds, Merrill, been named to the 2016 Lawrence University dean’s list. Hunter is a 2015 graduate of Merrill Senior High School.

The following area students were among the 367 University of Wisconsin-Whitewater student-athletes representing all 20 of the institution’s varsity sport programs named to the 2015-16 Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference Honor Roll: Mitchell Schauer, a native of Tomahawk and graduate of Tomahawk High School. Schauer, a sophomore on the Warhawks’ Football team, is majoring in General Management at UW-Whitewater. Jessica Sabey, a native of Merrill and graduate of Merrill High School. Sabey, a senior on the Warhawks’ volleyball team, is majoring in finance at UW-Whitewater.
