Burned remains identified as missing Price County woman

The Taylor County Sheriff’s Office reports that a positive identification has been made on the severely burned body discovered on May 4, 2016 in a burnt mobile home in the Town of Westboro.

On May 3, 2016, the Price County Sheriff’s Office notified the Taylor County Sheriff’s Office of a missing persons investigation they were conducting for 53-year-old Judy M. Davis of Kennan, Price County.

As a result of the investigation, a possible location to check for Judy Davis was identified within Taylor County. Taylor County deputies responded to that location, a mobile home in the Town of Westboro, to check for Davis. Upon their arrival, they located a vehicle known to belong to Judy Davis and a mobile home that had been destroyed by fire. During a subsequent search of the mobile home, a severely burned body was located. That body has now been positively identified to be that of Davis.

An ongoing investigation into the cause of death continues with the involvement of the following agencies: Taylor County Sheriff’s Office, Price County Sheriff’s Office, Wisconsin Department Of Justice-Division of Criminal Investigations, Wisconsin State Fire Marshal’s Office, Wisconsin State Crime Lab and Wisconsin State Patrol.
