Merrill police reports

June 28
4:49 AM, officers responded to a domestic complaint. The female caller stated her live in
boyfriend had accused her of cheating on him and he had punched and strangled her. Bruises
and a bite mark were visible. When officers were arresting the male party, he became resistive.
The male party was arrested for resisting, battery, and strangulation.
9:45 PM, an officer responded to an intoxicated pedestrian complaint. The caller advised two
parties were at McDonalds and appeared to be intoxicated and they then went to Walmart.
Contact was made with the male party who was sitting in the vehicle. No signs of impairment.
Contact was made with the female party who was found to have a warrant for her arrest. She
was taken into custody and transported to the jail.
June 29
3:02 PM, a male was arrested for a probation violation and brought to the jail.
June 30
10:39 PM, an officer stopped a vehicle on Wright Street. The operator was arrested for an active warrant as well as operating under the influence of drugs
7:05pm, an officer investigated a retail theft on Pine Ridge Avenue. As a result, a male was cited for retail theft. During this complaint, it was found that one of the male suspects had taken a similar item a couple weeks before this. That male was also cited for retail theft.
July 1
4:47 AM, an intruder was reported at a residence. It was found a husband and wife got into a dispute over allegations of infidelity. The male pushed the female causing her to hit her head on a cabinet. The male attempted to leave and the female followed to attempt to prevent him from driving in an intoxicated state. Once outside, the husband ran back inside and locked the wife out. The wife pushed an air conditioner out of a window and crawled back inside through the window. It was at this point the husband called to report the intruder. The husband was arrested for domestic disorderly conduct.
11:10 AM, a church reported vandalism to playground equipment. Someone had written vulgarities with a marker on the playground equipment and damaged some equipment. The church no longer will allow the playground to be open to the public.
3:08 PM, a store reported a former employee had stolen two small propane tanks from the store. The female’s identity is known and contact will be made with her and enforcement action may follow.
4:03 pm, a male was arrested for a probation violation at the request of Probation & Parole.
July 2
7:50 AM, a caller reported the father of her child placed his hands around her throat causing difficulty breathing and had punched her vehicle window breaking it the previous evening following an argument. The male was in Tomahawk and a Tomahawk officer was requested to
take him into custody. The man was arrested for strangulation/suffocation, criminal damage to property and disorderly conduct with domestic penalty enhancers.
11:40 AM, a caller reported someone had stolen a package from his porch that had been delivered
12:29 pm, a caller reported he had struck his neighbor’s vehicle while backing out of his driveway. A crash report was completed.
july 3
8:05 AM, officers responded to a child custody complaint. The caller advised his 10 month old child was with their grandmother after the mother was arrested on a warrant in another county. The grandmother had not returned home to turn the child over to the father. A short while later, the grandmother returned home with the child and the child was exchanged.
