Monday saw the Merrill Golf Club host a nine-hole exhibition featuring Tour of Champions players Todd Hamilton and Brandt Jobe. Todd is the 2004 British Open Champion and Brandt has 12 World Wide Wins. Both players will be playing in the American Family Insurance Golf Classic in Madison later in the week.

The exhibition, sponsored by Taylor-Stine Funeral Home, attorneys Wright & Jill Laufenberg, Church Mutual, ABG Masonry, Merrill Federal Savings & Loan, American Family/David Cooper Agency and the Merrill Golf Booster Club, paired the pro players with local hotshots. Hamilton & Kelly Brunett teed up against Jobe & Marty Heyne. Hamilton & Brunett ended up shooting -1 while Jobe & Heyne shot even par.

Before the exhibition officially started, both Todd and Brandt practiced driving balls downrange with various irons, openly discussing and explaining to the crowd many of their strategies and methods for playing golf, along with answering questions.

After the exhibition, everyone gathered inside the banquet hall for an auction. Items included autographed golf apparel and other golf items. All proceeds from the event will go to benefit the United Way of Merrill.
