Church Mutual donates $10,000 to local Special Olympics

Church Mutual raised $10,000 through an office-wide raffle in May to donate to Special Olympics, an organization that provides sports training and competition opportunities for people with intellectual disabilities.

Employees raised $6,813 through the raffle, and Rich Poirier, president and CEO of Church Mutual, increased total donations to $10,000. This marked Church Mutual’s first company contribution to the annual raffle for Special Olympics.

Church Mutual started raising money for Special Olympics in 1999 and has raised a total of $81,535 through 2016.

“We began fundraising for Special Olympics because we wanted to help this great cause and, at the same time, bring employees together as a team,” said Kevin Golisch, senior underwriter and an organizer of the raffle.

Money raised for Special Olympics during this event will stay in north central Wisconsin, which includes Clark, Langlade, Lincoln, Marathon, Portage, Wood and Vilas counties.
