Merrill Police reports

June 6
8:55 a.m.- An officer investigated a theft of a computer in the 3400 block of East Main Street. The investigation continues.

2:41 p.m.- A male was arrested and transported to the jail for an active warrant.

2:44 p.m.- An officer investigated a theft in the 2100 block of East 6th Street.

9:27 p.m.- An officer stopped a vehicle and arrested a female for an active arrest warrant on Riverside Avenue at Center Avenue.

11:02 p.m.- An officer stopped a vehicle on East Main Street at Memorial Drive and arrested a female for an active arrest warrant.

June 7
9:23 a.m.- Merrill Fire Department along with officers of the Merrill Police Department responded to a building in the 200 block of South Pine Ridge Avenue for a report of smoke coming from a room within the building.

3:30 p.m.- Officers were dispatched to the 2100 block of East 6th Street in reference to a male party that had shown up and appeared to be intoxicated then left. The male party was located near the location and signs of impairment were indicated by the subject. The male party refused field sobriety testing and subsequently was arrested for first offense operating under the influence. It was also reported the same male party had struck another party during an altercation prior to leaving. The male party was booked into the Lincoln County Jail for disorderly conduct.

June 8
9:35 p.m.- Officers responded to a local business for a forgery complaint. The caller stated that a male party was there attempting to cash a check that he may have received from stolen property. Contact was made with the male party at his residence, as he had left the business. He was found to have three active warrants for his arrest and another female in the vehicle had an active warrant for her arrest. The two parties were transported to the Lincoln County Jail.

June 9
9:07 p.m.- An officer made contact with a suspicious vehicle parked behind closed businesses. Two parties in the vehicle had active warrants for their arrest. The third party in the vehicle had marijuana on their person. The two parties with warrants were transported to the Lincoln County jail and one also had a probation hold placed on them. The party with the marijuana was cited for the violation.

9:33 p.m.- An officer responded to a violation of a restraining order. The caller stated her ex-husband had come to her residence and knocked on her door and left. Contact was made with the ex-husband who admitted to being on her property but said he was there to check on the children. The restraining order does not allow any contact. The male party is being charged with violation of court order.
