James Ernest Ullman

James Ernest Ullman, age 74, of Merrill, passed away at Mt. View Care Center on Thursday morning, June 9, 2016. He was born on April 22, 1942, to Ben and Della (Zirkle) Ullman.  James proudly served his country with the U.S. Army and served in The Korean War. He had owned and operated Jims Septic  Service for years and then went on to work for the Lincoln County Highway Department until retirement. He loved homecooked food and dinners with his family, playing checkers, and fishing.  Jim always had a joke to tell and loved to make people laugh.

James is survived by his ex-wife and dear friend, Carol  Ullman; two sons: James(Nicole) Ullman II of Merrill and Scott Ullman of Minnesota: step-daughter: Patricia(George) Dalbec of Tomahawk; step-son Roy(Peggy) Kloth of Wausau; Sisters: Frances(Victor) Schuman of Polar, WI, Mary Rose(Lloyd) Minton of Waupaca, Betty Wright of Polar, Bridget (Robert) Berg of Aniwa, Edith(Ed) Laridean of Reidburg, Clara Rosebourrough of Deerbrook, and Susan(Walter) Jacobs of Gleason; brothers: Gust(Joyce) Ullman of Deerbrook, Donald(Laurie) Ullman of Deerbroook, Julius Ullman of Deerbrook, Charles(Melda) Ullman, of Deerbrook, and Frank(Gail) Ullman of Antigo; 8 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren.   He was preceded in death by his parents, Ben and Della Ullman, and sisters: Grace Merwin and Marjorie Marten; two brothers; David Ullman and one in infancy.

Funeral services for James will be held at 11:00 AM on Monday, June 13, 2016 at Waid Funeral Home. Pastor Ross Nelson will officiate. Visitation will be 4 to 6 PM on Sunday, May 12, and again on Monday, May 13 from 10-11 AM at the funeral home. Military honors will be performed by VFW Post #1638 at the funeral home immediately following the service. Waid Funeral Home of Merrill is assisting the family with arrangements.
