Lincoln County DA not seeking re-election

After 12 years in office, Lincoln County District Attorney Donald Dunphy appears to be hanging up the reins.
According to the Wisconsin Government Accountability Board in Madison, Dunphy filed his notice of non-candidacy on Friday, just short of the 5 p.m. deadline. The notice means he won’t be running for re-election in November.
Rumors have swirled of other area attorneys throwing their hat in the ring, however as of Tuesday afternoon the candidate field remained empty.
The deadline for notice of candidacy is Wednesday, June 1.
Dunphy could not be reached for comment Wednesday.
