Quotes/AOW

Lakes—“…despite being up against several other strong varsity athletes, our younger athletes really showed up to compete on Tuesday. We had numerous PR’s and seasonal bests. The girls were able to score in all but two events and the boys scored in all but four of their events entered. Our distance runners and our relays looked exceptionally sharp and contributed points to the team score throughout the meet.”

Makenzy Moritz-“…Makenzy had a nice meet at Three Lakes on Tuesday. She had seasonal bests in both the shot and disc and anchored our 400 meter relay team. She scored for us on the varsity level in all of her events and provided nice leadership as we only traveled with a handful of upper-class athletes to the meet. Makenzy has been throwing for us for the past four years. She works hard and has put in her time with the program. It was nice to see her have such a solid day for herself and the team.”

Erik Zedler-“…Erik joined the program last season and has been a great utility role player for us. Once again Erik filled two scoring varsity relays and placed in the ‘open’ 800 as well. His splits in the relays were the fastest on the team and he was near a PR in his individual event. Erik is a three sport athlete and is a contributor in all his sports. That in itself is an excellent example for our younger athletes as it embellishes what our athletic philosophy is at Tomahawk is about!”
