Suspicious vehicle check leads to drug charges for young Merrill men

Sunday evening, an officer responded to a reported suspicious vehicle near the intersection of 5th and East Streets.
Upon arrival, officers located 3 males inside the vehicle who indicated they were parked and using wi-fi internet service.
During conversation with the 15-year old juvenile male in the driver’s seat, he advised officers he had not driven to the location rather an unknown party had driven and departed with the keys.
According to officer notes, the driver nor the other parties-identified as 17-year old Isaac Graham and 17- year old Jacob Roberts- would give any information as to who the driver was.
All parties were given the option to leave or remain in the vehicle, accoording to officer notes all three males chose to leave.
The assistance of officer Eros and the Merrill Police Department’s K9 unit was requested and Eros quickly rendered a positive hit on the vehicle. Following a subsequent search of the vehicle , a glass pipe commonly used to smoke Methamphetamine was located in the center console.
The three males were located a short time later and brought back to the vehicle by another officer. All three reportedly denied knowledge of the pipe.
A search of the three yielded THC as well as a pipe commonly used to smoke marijuana on the person of the juvenile.
The juvenile male was subsequently released to the custody of Lincoln County Social Services and a referral will be submitted for charges of Possession of Methamphetamine, Possession of THC and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia.
Roberts and Graham were issued citations for Possession of Drug Paraphernalia and released.
