Merrill Police reports
April 25
4:06 p.m.- An officer investigated a property damage complaint near Mill Street and East 9th Street where the victim’s tires had been punctured.
4:17 p.m.- Officers arrested a male in the 2400 block of Sturdevant Street for an active arrest warrant.
April 26
3:33 p.m.- An officer responded to the area of Chippewa and West Eighth streets for a report of an ATV operating in a reckless manner. The ATV was located and the operator admitted to the driving behavior. He will be cited for the disorderly conduct with the ATV.
4:51 p.m.- Officers took a report of a male and female subject that were walking in the 2600 block of East Main Street and were violating the conditions of an open bond prohibiting contact. The subjects were located and both admitted to knowing they could not have contact. The male subject was arrest for bail jumping and a probation violation.
8:10 p.m.- Officers were dispatched to a residence for a report of a confrontation that had occurred between the reporting party’s son and a neighbor. When the reporting party attempted to speak with the other male subject, he became argumentative and denied having been in any sort of confrontation. When officers attempted to make contact with the male subject, he refused to answer the door. Based upon current statements he will be charged with disorderly conduct.
9:13 p.m.- An officer took a report of a cell phone that was stolen from a residence. No other items were taken. There are no known suspects at this time.
10:36 p.m.- Officers were dispatched to a report of a domestic disturbance that had occurred at a residence. Officers spoke with the female subject who indicated that she had been arguing with her husband over the newly installed cable. The female subject claimed that the male had grabbed her by the shirt and pushed her back into the chair. The male had departed from the residence prior to officers arriving. The female subject who had been drinking, denied any injuries. The male subject was located and had already planned on staying somewhere else. The report will be referred to the district attorney for review.
April 28
7:05 a.m.- An officer observed a juvenile smoking a cigarette while walking to school. The officer made contact with the juvenile who admitted to smoking the cigarette and advised he stole it from his parents. The juvenile was cited for the violation.
