Virginia “Virgie” Meyer

Virginia “Virgie” Meyer fell asleep in Jesus at her home in Ogema on March 20th, 2016. She was born July 7th, 1925 in Rhinelander, WI to the late Floyd and Cora (Erickson) Fex.
She graduated High School 1943 in Sturgeon Bay, WI.
On March 22, 1947 she married the late Charles Meyer in Chicago, IL.  She had attended grade school with him in Ogema, WI. As a boy Charles had carved their initials in his family’s woodshed, which still stands today.
Virgie was a housewife and mother while her children were small and later became an LPN.  She worked most of her career in Portland, OR. She and her husband moved back to Wisconsin to Charles’ childhood home about 20 years ago.  Her greatest interest was spending time with her Savior. She loved sharing Him with others. Other hobbies were crafts of all kinds, sewing, gardening, and nature.
She is survived by her sons Charles “Chip” and Pamela of Sequim, WA and Philip of Ogema.  She has  grand children  and great grandchildren who where also very precious to her.  Her home had many pictures of them to keep them close to her. Along with her family and extended family, her church family was very important to her.
She is preceded in death by her parents, husband, brother, Philburn Fex; and brother-n-law, Theodore Meyer.
Memorial service will be held Wednesday at 11:00 am at the Tomahawk Seventh Day Adventist Church, a 1529 East  Somo Ave.
The family would like to thank all those who cared for her thru Hospice and the visits in her final days that meant so much to her.  She now awaits her Lord’s return.
