Internationally acclaimed trombone quartet to perform in Merrill

Maniacal4 is a fabulous group of four great musicians telling one unified, inspiring musical story after another. Hailed as “a force to be reckoned with,” the trombone quartet has performed on three continents, entertaining audiences with a wide range of styles and time periods.

Merrill will be the next stop for this spectacular group of young men as they take the stage at the Merrill High School Auditorium on Friday, March 11 starting at 7 p.m. Their performance in Merrill is sponsored by the Merrill Area Concert Association as part of its current series of concerts.

Maniacal4 is well versed in a variety of musical styles including classical, jazz, Latin and light rock. Their selections range from Bach, Beethoven and Mozart to Roy Orbison’s Pretty Woman, Fillmore’s Lassus Trombone, Debussy’s Girl With the Flaxen Hair and Gliere’s Russian Sailor’s Dance.

Trained at the University of North Texas in Denton, TX – one of the premier jazz schools in the United States – these four outstanding musicians have the goods to become one of the world’s finest trombone quartets. Plus, they perform almost exclusively from memory, projecting a clear, unified, uplifting and committed musical vision to their audiences.

This is an opportunity to hear one of the really great trombone quartets in existence today – and what a treat for those of you who played a brass instrument in your high school band.

Attendance at all Merrill Area Concert Association performances is by membership only. Not only does a season ticket get you into all the concerts, you can attend additional concert association events in Antigo and Medford as well.
