Merrill Police reports

March 4
2:56 p.m.- An officer responded to a 2-vehicle crash with injury. In speaking with all parties involved, one of the drivers admitted to not stopping at a stop sign and striking the other vehicle. That driver was cited for failure to stop at a stop sign.

9 p.m.- Officers responded to Walmart for a theft complaint. An employee observed a female exit the store with a bag full of items she did not purchase and she was wearing a coat she had not purchased. The employee followed the female out of the store, who fled on foot. Officers located the female at another business hiding in the restroom. She gave false identification and then refused to identify herself. The female was arrested for the retail theft and for unauthorized use of identification. The female later was identified and had two warrants for her arrest and was also charged with bail jumping and obstructing an officer.

March 6
3:12 a.m.- An officer was requested to assist the Lincoln County Sheriff’s Department with a possible intoxicated motorist. While on the way to assist the deputy, Merrill Police located a vehicle in the ditch that had struck a fence near the intersection of Duginski Road and CTH K. Field Sobriety tests were conducted and the male driver was arrested for OWI 1st offense.

3:28 a.m.- Officers responded to a report of a physical domestic in progress in the 800 block of Superior Street. Investigation revealed that a female at this location had slapped and pulled the hair of the male victim at this residence. The female was arrested for Domestic DC and Misdemeanor Bail Jumping and was transported to the Lincoln County jail.

1:53 p.m.- Officers responded to a report of two vehicle crash On East Main Street and Eagle Drive. Investigation revealed that a vehicle was stopped in traffic near this intersection facing eastbound. A second vehicle that was also traveling eastbound struck the stopped vehicle from behind. The driver of the second vehicle was cited for inattentive driving.
