Despite Monday’s winter storm which dumped up to 14 inches of snow in some areas of the state, all but two of the originally scheduled 18 teams rolled into town Monday night and Tuesday morning, for the annual Northern Exposure wrestling tournament at the MHS Field House.
Green Bay-Preble and Marquette, MI were unable to make an appearance.
When the mats quieted Monday evening, Merrill is guaranteed a fourth place pool finish with wins over Rosholt 43-22 and Rice Lake 48-28.
The Jays fell in their opening dual with Beaver Dam 54-21 then fall in back to back duals with Kewaskum 41-34 and Mineral Point 54-23.
