Merrill Police Department reports

November 2
5:30 p.m.- A crash was reported on N Center Ave at E 2nd St. Two vehicles were northbound on N. Center Ave. with one in the right lane and one in the left. The driver in the left lane stated he did not see the other vehicle and made a right turn onto E. 2nd St. striking the other vehicle. The offending driver was cited for improper right turn and a crash report was completed.
November 3
10:45 a.m.- A business reported receiving a $100 bill they believed to be counterfeit. The bill was found to be old and has a different appearance from newer bills which have modern security features. The bill was found to be legitimate.
11:15 a.m.- A male was arrested for a probation violation at the request of Probation & Parole.
1:10 p.m.- A caller reported someone had stolen his bicycle from his yard sometime this past weekend.
2:43 p.m.- A caller reported he had filed for a restraining order against his live-in girlfriend earlier in the day. She was now at the residence and he did not wish for her to be there. At that time the restraining order was not yet in place as she had not been formally served the papers. A deputy responded and served her the restraining order. The landlord also responded and issued both an eviction notice. The female departed the residence.
3:17 p.m.- A male reported to city hall to pay off his fines. It was found the fines had already turned into warrants. He was arrested for four warrants through Merrill PD. He paid the fines at the jail and was released.
4:09 p.m.- A caller reported someone entered her garage sometime overnight and stole some items.
4:16 p.m.- A caller reported someone had thrown eggs at his residence twice in the past week. He suspects a neighbor kid. The officer will follow-up on the complaint at a later time.
November 4
8:01 p.m.- Officers responded to the train tracks behind the downtown for a report of a vehicle on the train tracks. Officers located an intoxicated female who had driven her vehicle on the train tracks and got stuck. The female was arrested for Operating While Intoxicated 2nd offense.
November 5
2:14 p.m.- Officers went to an address in the 500 block of East 7th Street and arrested a male with an active warrant.
4:13 p.m.- An officer investigated a retail theft complaint in the 300 block of East 1st Street. The suspect has been identified and the investigation is ongoing.
