Leadership award nominees announced

The Merrill Chamber of Commerce has announced the nominees for their upcoming Leadership Awards. The winners will be announced at an awards dinner on Nov. 19 at Les & Jim’s. The cost of the dinner is $25 per person and tickets are available at the Merrill Chamber of Commerce.

There will be four awards given out for 2015: Merrill Person of Distinction Lifetime Achievement; Women of Distinction Professional Leadership Excellence Award; Women of Distinction Community Service/Leadership Award; and the Rising Star Award for a nominee under 40 years of age. The nominees for these awards are: Amanda Kostman, Ginger Belgram, Erin Swan, Dr. Shelly Mondeik, Gene Bebel, and Dorinda Gustke.

New this year is the Lifetime Achievement Award.

“Our committee felt that it was important to have a special award that honored a male or female in our community who has excelled in their professional life and has given back to the community in significant ways,” stated Debbe Kinsey, chamber chief executive officer.

Nominations were submitted by community members and a selection committee comprised of a diverse group of community leaders reviewed and evaluated all nominations and selected the recipients for the Women of Distinction Awards and the Merrill Person of Distinction Lifetime Achievement Award.

“The Women of Distinction Awards and the new Merrill Person of Distinction Lifetime Achievement Award both celebrate exemplary leadership and accomplishments of the women and men nominated. Each one has a story of success and will be an inspiration for all of us,” concluded Kinsey.

To purchase a ticket for the dinner or for more information contact the Chamber at 705 N. Center Ave. or by telephone at 715-536-9474, or visit their website at www.merrillchamber.
