City opens ATV/UTV routes

The city of Merrill has opened the ATV/UTV routes running through the city.
On March 20, the Merrill city council adopted, approved and published a new ordinance relating the ATV and UTV operation. The signs along the route have been installed and operation of ATVs and UTVs on the route is now open.
The map of the route is available and posted at City Hall at the Clerk/Treasurer’s office and in the Merrill Police Department front lobby. The maps is also available on the city of Merrill website.

•Speed limit is 15 mph in the city limits
•ATV/UTVs must be operated in single file and as far to the right as possible
•ATV/UTVs must yield to other vehicles and pedestrians
•Headlights and taillights must be functional and in operation at all times
•No ATV/UTV operation is allowed on Hwy. 64, Hwy. 107 and Center Avenue from O’Day Street north
•All other Department of Natural Resources regulations apply
