Construction of the new Aquatic Center appears to be progressing well as of Tuesday afternoon.
The Merrill Foto News accompanied Parks and Recreation Director Dan Wendorf and project superintendent Mark Fuller from Miron Inc. on a tour of the site, which included a nearly finished pool cavity, splash pad as well as the partially completed pool house which will be complete with locker rooms. According to Fuller, future milestones include completion of concrete and asphalt work around the complex which is set to begin Thursday, placement of play structures as well as mechanical systems for the pool plumbing. All exterior work is projected to be completed by December, including enclosing the pool house.
Crews will then begin interior work through the winter months with a projected completion date of May 2016 and opening June of 2016.
