Elaine Ida Mittelsteadt
Elaine Ida Mittelsteadt, age 86, died on August 8, 2015 at the Aspirus Hospital in Wausau, WI. Elaine was born on December 11, 1928 to the late Herman and Ida (Prentice) Krueger in Merrill, WI. She attended and graduated from Merrill High School. Elaine fell in love and married Henry David Mittelsteadt on January 24, 1948 in Merrill, WI. He preceded her in death in 1998.
Elaine first worked at Hanson Gloves for about 20 years and then Weinbrenner for about 20 years. After retirement, she always remained busy. She loved looking after her grandchildren, working in the yard and growing flowers. She also helped out in the family business. She loved being outdoors, whether it was snowmobiling, camping, boating or manicuring her yard. Elaine especially enjoyed the warm summer weather. When others complained about it being too hot, she was always outside finding something to do. She loved to bake and her family looked forward to her delicious pies or warm baked bread. Elaine also enjoyed dancing and listening to country music. She enjoyed going to Ho-Dag and Fud-Fest Music Festivals. She was an avid Green Bay Packer fan and cheered them on every chance she got. Elaine was an outspoken lady and she was enjoyable to be around. When she wasn’t keeping busy, she enjoyed playing solitaire and reading books. Elaine and her family took many trips around the states through the years which left many enjoyable memories. Above all, family was priority in her life. She adored her daughter, grandchildren and great grandchildren. Elaine was a lifelong member at Trinity Lutheran Church in Merrill, WI. She will be sadly missed by all who knew her.
Elaine is survived by her daughter; Sherry (John) Geiss of Merrill, 1 grandson; Andy (Michelle) Geiss of Merrill, 2 granddaughters; Ginger (Eric) Belgram of Merrill and Lindsay (Landon) Malzahn of Merrill, 1 great grandson; Aidan Malzahn, 2 great granddaughters; Josi and Madie Geiss, and baby to be(Dec 2015), along with many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; Herman and Ida Krueger, husband; Henry David Mittelsteadt, 1 great granddaughter; Lily Belgram, 5 brothers; Wilfred, Richard, Edgar, Jack and Herman Krueger, and 1 sister; Dorothy Degner.
Funeral Services for Elaine will be held on Wednesday, August 12, 2015 at 5:30 P.M at the Trinity Lutheran Church in Merrill. Pastor Brian Stolarczyk will officiate. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, August 12, 2015 beginning at 3pm and continuing until the time of the service, also at the church. Burial will take place on Thursday, August 13, 2015 at 11 A.M at Merrill Memorial Park Cemetery.
