William E. ‘Bill’ Frederick, age 84, of Merrill, died Thursday, July 23, 2015, at home.
Bill was born July 24, 1930, in Merrill, son of the late Louis and Mary Frederick. He married Leilla Margaret Zastrow on February 14, 1953. She preceded him in death on January 13, 2011. He then married Ruth Krugler on June 30, 2012. She survives. Bill had been a Foreman at Northern Wire, had driven truck for Park City Motors, and had also worked at Merrill Equipment. Bill enjoyed cutting firewood, making maple syrup, playing cards, going to the casino, deer hunting, and tending to his garden along the Pine River.
Survivors include his wife, Ruth Krugler, Merrill; his daughter, Margie Rice (Merle Quale) of Merrill; his son, Mark (Chansa) Frederick, Merrill; two grandchildren, Ryan (Amber) Rice of Kaukauna, and Amy (Chris) Burger, Wausau; one great granddaughter, Reegan Rice; four step children, Bonnie (Craig) Wilkum, Kiel, Wisconsin, Julie (Michael) Henrichs, Merrill, Steven (Stacy) Krugler, Junction City, and David (Tina) Krugler, Robbinsdale, Minnesota; two step grandchildren, Cody and Courtney Sczygelski; two brothers, Joseph Frederick and Robert (Carol) Frederick, both of Merrill; and a sister in law, Phyllis Frederick, Merrill. Besides his parents and first wife, Bill is preceded in death by a sister, Marie Schultz; two brothers, Elmer and Louis; and a sister in law, Jane Frederick.
The funeral service will be at 11:00 A.M. Monday, July 27, 2015, at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church, Town of Pine River. The Rev. Greg Laska will officiate. Burial will follow in Springbrook Cemetery, Town of Pine River. Visitation will be from 3:00 P.M. until 6:00 P.M. Sunday at the Taylor-Stine Funeral Home, Merrill, and after 10:00 A.M. Monday at the church.
