Shirley J. Wendland, age 74, of Merrill, died Friday, July 17, 2015, at Ministry St. Clare’s Hospital, Weston.
Shirley was born June 2, 1941, in Merrill, daughter of the late Paul and Leona Graap. She married Clarence ‘Windy’ Wendland on November 13, 1961. He preceded her in death on November 17, 1992. Shirley had been employed at Wire Products, Inc., Merrill. She enjoyed painting, gardening and yard work, driving her ‘John Deere’ tractor, cooking, and following the Green Bay Packers.
Shirley is survived by two daughters, Laurie (Charles) Ramp, and Cheryl Wendland, both of Merrill; one son, Rick Wendland, Merrill; two grandchildren, Krystal and Jennifer; two sisters, Judy Nelson and Karen Graap, both of Merrill; and three sisters in law, Theresa Graap and Juanita Arndt, both of Merrill, and Delores Sweeny of Portage. Besides her husband and parents, Shirley is preceded in death by two daughters, Susan Wagers and Patricia Waldburger; a sister, Janet Leibers; and a brother, Gerald Graap.
The funeral will begin at 11:00 A.M. Tuesday, July 21, 2015, at the Taylor-Stine Funeral Home, Merrill. The Rev. R. Brian Stolarczyk will officiate. Burial will follow in Merrill Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation will begin at 9:00 A.M. Tuesday at the funeral home.
