Pauline Plautz age 93 of Merrill died peacefully Sunday, June 14, 2015 at Pine Crest Nursing Home, Merrill.
Pauline was born November 1, 1921 in Merrill, daughter of John and Mary (Reichert) Herdt. Pauline married Wilbert Plautz at St. Stephens United Church of Christ in Merrill on December 14, 1941. He preceded her in death on November 15, 2009. Pauline was a homemaker who enjoyed traveling, baking, babysitting, gardening and painting. Pauline loved spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, filling them full of “cherry delight” and stories of her childhood.
Survivors include two sons, Gerald (Lois) Plautz of Merrill, and Ronald Plautz of Memphis, Tennessee; one daughter, Arlene (Vern) Bagne of Champlin, Minnesota; eight grandchildren, Pamela, Stacy, Rachel, Roni Sue, Michael, Steven, Paula and Mark; nine great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; and five brothers Albert, Ervin, Herman, Paul and Edward Herdt. Pauline was preceded in death by her husband, Wilbert Plautz; her parents, John and Marie Herdt; one daughter-in-law, Bev Plautz; two great-grandchildren, Brittnee and Benjamin; four sisters Molly Mootz, Marie Hintz, Lydia Klebenow and Esther Tushinski; and four brothers John, Ben, Alex and Raymond Herdt.
The funeral will be held at 1:00 P.M. Friday, June 19, 2015 at Trinity Lutheran Church, Merrill. The Rev. R. Brian Stolarczyk will officiate. Interment will take place at Merrill Memorial Park following the service. The Taylor-Stine Funeral Home, Merrill, is assisting the family.
