Rhinelander man injured in cycle vs. deer crash

Wednesday night at approximately 8:56 p.m., the Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office received a call of a motorcycle vs. deer crassh. The caller did not know their exact location but they believed they were on Hwy. 107.
A Lincoln County deputy located the crash scene on Hwy. 107 south of Sugar Maple Road.
The driver of the motorcycle, a 51-year-old Rhinelander man, sustained possibly life threatening injuries. The passenger, a 49-year-old woman, was uninjured. Neither the driver nor passenger were wearing helmets.
Merrrill EMS and Tomahawk EMS responded to the scene. The driver was taken by Tomahawk EMS to Sacred Heart Hospital and was subsequently transported by MedEvac to Aspirus Wausau Hospital.
The Wisconsin State Patrol also assisted at the scene. The crash is still under investigation.
