A note of gratitude from the Community Food Pantry of Merrill:
We at the pantry are happy to report another successful year for the Boy Scout “Scouting for Food” food drive and the U.S. Postal Service “Stamping Out Hunger” food drive. The generosity of those in the Merrill area is overwhelming! Over 10,000 pounds of food was collected by the hard-working Boy Scouts, their parents, Postal workers and volunteers – which in turn, fill the food pantry shelves.
These food drives require many people working behind the scenes as well. It’s easy to overlook those that spend their day collecting and delivering the food, boxing it up, checking the expiration dates, looking for dents and dings and then shelving the items. To say the least, our volunteers at the pantry are top-notch! Each and every one is dedicated to serving their neighbor in need, treating them as they would like to be treated themselves… the pantry could not run without their service and commitment!
To the Merrill Community, thank you for filling up the bags left on your mailbox or door handle, allowing us the privilege of serving those in need in our Merrill area. Your continued support is vital and so greatly appreciated!
Tammy Cohrs and Al Crevier,
Volunteer Co-Managers
