Mildred O. Kautz, age 94, of Merrill, died Sunday, April 5, 2015, at Ministry Good Samaritan Health Center, Merrill.
Mildred was born April 5, 1921, in Merrill, daughter of the late Frederick and Ella (Laak) Heidemann. She married Arnold Kautz on February 20, 1943. He preceded her in death on January 17, 1994. Mildred and her husband dairy farmed in the Town of Pine River, Lincoln County. She was a member of Calvary Lutheran Church, Town of Pine River. Mildred enjoyed tending to her animals. She also enjoyed flower and vegetable gardening, and cooking and baking. Mildred especially enjoyed sharing her knowledge of these things with everyone.
Survivors include her daughter-in-law, Darlene Kautz, of Antigo; her sister-in-law, Marjorie Heidemann, of Merrill; her grandchildren, Brian Kautz and Peggy Guite, both of Merrill; nine great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren. Mildred was preceded in death by her husband, Arnold Kautz; her parents, Frederick and Ella Heidemann; her son, Ronald Kautz; her grandson-in-law, Benji Guite, Sr.; her sister, Dorothy (Paul) Hojan; and her brother, Victor Heidemann.
The funeral service will be held at 11:00 A.M. Thursday, April 9, 2015, at Calvary Lutheran Church, Town of Pine River. The Rev. Susan Christian will officiate. Burial will be in Springbrook Cemetery, Town of Pine River. Visitation will be from 4:00 P.M. until 7:00 P.M. Wednesday at the Taylor-Stine Funeral Home, Merrill, and after 9:30 A.M. Thursday at the church.
