Tax help at T.B. Scott Library

The final 2014 tax year consultation sessions at T.B. Scott Free Library are scheduled for Wednesday, April 8, from 9:30 a.m. to noon. While almost all 30-minute slots have been taken (call 715-536-7191 for reservations), walk-ins may be able to squeeze in between appointments.
Kimberly Haas of Wausau will be providing tax assistance at these sessions. Haas is the Deputy Director, Civil Unit Director, and Staff Attorney at Wisconsin Judicare, Inc. in Wausau. She has been an adjunct tax professor at the University of Wisconsin-Marathon County since 2011, and has volunteered with the VITA tax program for five years.
Besides one-on-one tax assistance sessions, the library is also a tax materials distribution point. This year, while the library has received Wisconsin state tax forms and instructions, the IRS is distributing only 1040, 1040A, and 1040EZ forms in bulk.
However, if free tax materials aren’t available, or the library is out of stock, we can help you find and print materials from the Internet. Call or check the library’s website at www.tbscottlibrary.org for availability and cost of tax materials you’re seeking.
If you want to file your taxes online, but don’t have a computer, use the library’s public computers to connect to the Internet. Let us know you’re working on taxes and you’ll get all the time you need.
Tax assistance is just one service T.B. Scott Free Library provides. To find out more about the library, call, view the library’s website, or check out the library’s Facebook page at “T.B. Scott Free Library.”
