Man’s Tirade Leads to Multiple Felony Charges

Friday morning, an officer on patrol was signaled over by a citizen on Genesee Street and advised of a damaged property complaint at a residence the citizen takes care of.

The officer proceeded to the residence and made contact with the a female party, who reported 39-year-old Kevin Stadler “went nuts and destroyed her apartment.” According to officer notes, the victim stated Stadler had become upset after being denied access to the victim’s prescription medication. Stadler then allegedly attacked the victim by pushing the victim to the ground, pulling her hair and covering her mouth, causing difficulty in breathing. When the victim told Stadler the police would be called, Stadler allegedly took her phone and thew it in the street, broke pieces of furniture and broke out the window of the her home with a chair before leaving the residence.

The responding officer estimated damage to be in the thousands of dollars. Stadler was located a short time later and was taken into custody. According to circuit court records, Stadler appeared in Lincoln County Circuit Court on Tuesday, facing several charges including Felony charges of Strangulation and Suffocation, Intimidate Victim/Damage Property, Criminal Damage to Property (over $2,500) and False Imprisonment. In addition, Stadler faces misdemeanor charges of Battery and Disorderly Conduct. As of Tuesday night, Stadler remains in the Lincoln County Jail on $5,000 cash bond.
