LoRae J. Larry, age 78, formerly of Tomahawk, passed away on Monday, December 29, 2014, at Nazareth Health and Rehab in Stoughton, WI. She was born March 14, 1936, in Gleason, WI, to the late August and Josephine (Sell) Pankow. She was later married to Winfred Larry; he passed away in 2003.
LoRae grew up in the Gleason area and attended school in Gleason and Merrill. She later moved to Milwaukee where her and Winfred married. They moved to Tomahawk in 1974. In 2012, LoRae moved to Madison. She was a member of Grace Lutheran Church in Tomahawk. LoRae enjoyed her times with Card Club, traveling with Winfred throughout the United States, going to the casino, reading and knitting. Above all, she loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren.
Survivors include: one Stepson, James (George) Larson, of Florida; two daughters, Jenny (Dave) Herbst, of Madison, and Beth (Kevin) Brown, of Tomahawk; two Brothers, James (Emily) Pankow, of Merrill, and Jerry (Meta) Holt, of South Carolina. LoRae is further survived by one granddaughter, Sarah Brown, and two Grandsons, Andrew and Jonathon Herbst, and many Nieces and Nephews, several of whom thought of her as “mom”.
Memorial services for LoRae Larry will be held on Saturday, January 3, 2015, at 11:00 AM from Grace Lutheran Church in Tomahawk. Rev. Mark Ziemer will officiate. The family will receive friends from 10:00 AM until the time of Services at 11:00 AM. Generations Funeral Home & Crematory is assisting the family.
