An underage New Year’s Eve gathering was broken up by deputies. A deputy on patrol spotted a large number of vehicles parked on South End Road including one parked against traffic. When he got out to investigate, he realized a large party was taking place with mostly underage drinkers. In all, 46 people were contacted ranging in age from 16 to 21 who were from Merrill to as far away as Oshkosh. The underage drinkers were all provided with sober ride homes and all will be cited for underage consumption.
