James C. Kottman, age 77, passed away on Wednesday, December 24, 2014, at Artisan Assisted Living, Merrill.
James was born November 28, 1937, in Merrill, son of the late August and Mary (Martz) Kottman. He married Susan Vogt on July 6, 1968, in Merrill, and she survives. James had previously worked at Anderson Brothers & Johnson Quarry, Wausau, and at the time of his retirement he was working at Marathon Cheese, Corporation. James enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren.
Survivors include his wife, Susan Kottman, Merrill; a daughter, Dawn (Allan) Grover, Merrill; a son, Matthew (Natalie) Kottman, Walled Lake, Michigan; five grandchildren, Kala Kottman, Saginaw, Michigan, Daniel Grover, Samantha Grover, Blake Grover, and Atlanta Grover, all of Merrill; and four sisters, Elsie Pedrin, Gloria Raddatz, and Josephine Morrison, all of Wakefield, Michigan, and Rose Kleinschmidt of Merrill. Besides his parents, James is preceded in death by one sister, Margaret Severt, and three brothers, Julius, Roger, and Leroy Kottman.
The funeral will begin at 11:00 A.M. Monday, December 29, 2014, at Immanuel Lutheran Church, Town of Corning, Lincoln County. The Rev. Joel Danner will officiate. Burial will follow in Immanuel Lutheran Church Cemetery, Town of Corning. Visitation will be from 4:00 P.M. until 7:00 P.M. Sunday at the Taylor-Stine Funeral Home, Merrill, and after 9:30 A.M. Monday at the church.
