Two Irma men, aged 21 and 22, will be referred to the Lincoln County District Attorney after a deputy investigated a complaint of child neglect in the Town of Birch this past week.
A report was phoned into the sheriff’s office that a three-year-old child had been duct taped to a door at a home in Irma. When the deputy investigated, witnesses reported that the child had been bound by its hands and feet and taped to the door but they told conflicting stories on which man was responsible.
The deputy who investigated the case will recommend to the District Attorney that each man be charged with felony physical abuse of a child and reckless causation of bodily harm as the child had an allergic reaction to the tape.
