Ruffina L. Hagedorn

Ruffina L. Hagedorn, age 99, of Merrill, died Monday, December 15, 2014, at Pine Crest Nursing Home, Merrill.
Ruffina was born September 29, 1915 in Clinton County, Illinois, daughter of the late William and Lydia (Rennegarbe) Fruend.  She married Hugo O. Hagedorn on July 27, 1939.  He preceded her in death on June 8, 1981. Ruffina and her husband operated a dairy farm in the Town of Pine River for 34 years. After retiring from farming, Ruffina worked part time at East Side Floral and also Northwood’s Evergreens. Ruffina enjoyed gardening, sewing, making Christmas ornaments, and traveling. 
Survivors include her five children, Edward (Polly) Hagedorn, Merrill, Douglas (Judy) Hagedorn, Wausau, John (Roselin) Hagedorn, Merrill, Patricia Hagedorn and Bonnie (Steve) Huth, both of Merrill; seven grandchildren, Todd (Mary) Hagedorn, Weston, Ronald Hagedorn, Wausau, James (Okho) Hagedorn, Shawano, Laura Hagedorn, Wausau, Vicki (Drew) Kessler, New York, Michael (Rebekka) Huth, River Falls, and Angela (Jason) Berger, Edina, Minnesota; nine great grandchildren; five great grandchildren; one sister, Alice Bacher, Merrill; and two sisters in law, Carol Fruend, Chiefland, Florida and Evelyn Fruend, Sheboygan. Besides her husband and parents, Ruffina is preceded in death by and infant son, Charles Hagedorn; two sisters, Evelyn Zastrow and Helen Schenk; and three brothers, Hubert, Wilbert, and Lester Fruend.    
The funeral service for Ruffina will be held at 10:30 A.M. Monday, December 22, 2014, at St. John Lutheran Church, Merrill. The  Rev. Nathan Kramer will officiate.  Burial will take place at St. James Cemetery, Town of Pine River, Lincoln County.  Visitation will be from 3:00 P.M. until 6:00 P.M. Sunday at the Taylor-Stine Funeral Home, Merrill, and after 9:30 A.M. Monday at the church.  The Taylor-Stine Funeral Home, Merrill, is assisting the family with arrangements.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that memorials be directed to St. John Lutheran Church, Merrill, for the General Fund.
