Mr. Gene A. Jourdan, age 89, of Merrill, passed away on Wednesday, December 3, 2014, at Ministry St. Joseph’s Hospital, Marshfield.
Gene was born November 9, 1925, in Merrill, son of the late Alvin and Ida (Lutzke) Jourdan. He married Irene Mork on May 3, 1946, in Merrill. She survives. Gene was a self employed trucker, hauling pulpwood for area loggers. He enjoyed hunting and fishing. Gene was a member of Our Saviours Lutheran Church, Merrill.
Gene is survived by his wife Irene Jourdan, Merrill; his son, Pastor Larry Jourdan, Kewanee, Illinois; and other relatives and friends. Besides his parents, Gene is preceded in death by two siblings, Betty Braatz and Darrell Jourdan.
The funeral will begin at 1:00 P.M. on Wednesday, December 10, 2014, at the Taylor-Stine Funeral Home, Merrill. Pastor Dennis R. Creswell will officiate. Burial will follow in Merrill Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4:00-7:00 P.M. on Tuesday, and after 12 Noon on Wednesday, all at the funeral home.
