Sandra ?Sandy? Lee Pieper

Sandra “Sandy” Lee Pieper, age 64, passed away on Monday, November 17, 2014 at her home in Merrill, Wisconsin after her courageous battle with cancer. She was born March 7, 1950 in Campbellsport, Wisconsin, the daughter of Bernard and Jeanette (Koenigs) Sarauer.
Sandy enjoyed bowling, camping, fishing and spending time with her family and many friends. She was a member of the 600 Club and was inducted into the Merrill Bowling Hall of Fame. Sandy also enjoyed traveling with her family and friends, shopping and watching hummingbirds and other wildlife. She loved spending time with her grandkids, kids and “Dukie”. Sandy also enjoyed spending time in Eagle River fishing and enjoying nature.
Sandy graduated from Campbellsport High School. In 1969 she married the love of her life Roger R. Pieper. They moved from Campbellsport to Merrill in 1983. In addition to raising her three children she also coached bowling, participated in bowling and horseshoe leagues. She worked at West Bend & Regal Ware Companies, Church Mutual Insurance Company and Thelma’s Bridal. She was a member of the Eagles Auxiliary Club and St. Francis Catholic Church.
She was preceded in death by her parents and two brothers, Ronald and Jimmy Sarauer.
Survivors include her husband of 45 years: Roger Pieper, Merrill; 2 daughters: Tracy (Chris) Schmeltzer and their children: Samantha, Kalie (Mitch) Osness, Jared, Alexandra, Addison and Jacob, and Tammy (Bob) Pyan and their children: Payton, Patience, Piersen, Prayla and Princeten, all of Merrill; one son: Troy (Gina) Pieper and their children: Bryanna, Bradyn and Brooklyn, also of Merrill; 10 siblings: Gerald Sarauer, Nancy (Loren) Benson, Sue (Pat) Johnson, Dennis (Barb) Sarauer, Bernie (Rosie) Sarauer, Gloria (Norman) Fleishman, Danny (Shelby) Saurauer, Rick (Judy) Sarauer, all of Campbellsport, WI, Judy (Hollis) Lamb, Tennessee, and Tim (Sandy) Sarauer, Campbellsport, WI.
Funeral Services will be held at 12:00 noon on Saturday, November 22, 2014 at Waid Funeral Home. Father Mike McLain will officiate. Visitation will be from 4-8 PM Friday, November 21 and again from 11AM until the time of service, all at Waid Funeral Home. Waid Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.
