Barbara Ann Szczepanski

Barbara Ann Szczepanski (nee Wirth) age 86 of Gleason, WI, went to be with Our Lord on Friday November 7, 2014 after a lengthy illness.
Barbara was born to Adam Andrew Wirth and Elizabeth Hansel in Milwaukee, WI on June 3, 1928.
She married Thaddeus “Ted” Szczepanski at Our Saviors Lutheran Church in Bundy on October 3, 1998 where they were both members.
Barbara grew up and worked in the Milwaukee area until moving to Gleason in the early 1980’s. She was a bartender at Tanglewood Bar for 10+ years and then retired from Wal~Mart in Rhinelander.
Barbara loved to bowl and belonged to leagues in Milwaukee and then in Gleason. She loved to do crossword puzzles and play cards and games. She crocheted; including making mittens every year for the Mitten Tree sponsored though her church.
Prior to her illness, she and Ted spent some winters in Florida and also Mesa, AZ. They also enjoyed occasional trips to the casino.
She was a blessing to her family and friends. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister and friend. She will be remembered by her grandchildren as “Cookie Grandma”.
Barbara had a big heart and a gentleness about her that will be remembered by all. You never arrived at her house or left without a hug and a kiss.
Barbara is survived by her husband Thaddeus “Ted” Szczepanski , her sons; Howard (Judith) Scaggs of Montello, Richard,(Diana) Scaggs of Milwaukee, daughters; Patricia (Ronald) Geurink of Gleason and Lynn (Gary) Burrow of Wautoma, Step children; Marla (Edward) Heaser of Rollingstone, MN, Joanne Szczepanski of Rhinelander, Tom (Paulette) Szczepanski of Sussex, and Richard (Sherry) Szczepanski of Nashville, TN, brothers; Adam (Nora) Wirth, John (Sylvia) Weigel and sister; Kathleen Jentzsch. She is further survived by 10 grandchildren, 16 great grandchildren, 8 step-grandchildren and 12 step-great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband; Raymond Lindemer, her son; Jerald Scaggs and her sister; Elizabeth Sperling.
Visitation will be held at Waid Funeral Home, Merrill, WI Friday November 14,2014 4PM-7PM.
Funeral services for Barbara will be held at Wisconsin Memorial Cemetery, Chapel of The Flowers, Brookfield, WI Saturday November 15,2014 from 1PM-2PM, with the service beginning at 2PM and the internment to follow.
