Joan Bernice Kreciak, age 73, of Merrill, passed away on Oct. 26, 2014 at her home in Merrill under the care of Ministry Home Care and Hospice.
Joan was born on March 15, 1941 to John and Bernice (Sperling) Last in Buffalo, New York. She married Anthony Kreciak on June 18, 1960 in Illinois. He preceded her in death in 2001.
In her younger years, Joan enjoyed camping trips with her family. She loved being outdoors and enjoyed gardening. She had even started her own flower garden, which let her watch her favorite bird, the hummingbird. Joan would also enjoy working on puzzles, playing computer games and watching the Green Bay Packers. She loved spending time with her daughters and grandchildren. Joan’s faithful dog, “Snickers,” was always by her side. She will be sadly missed.
Joan is survived by her two daughters, Debbie Kreciak of Merrill and Carol Solomon of Illinois; grandsons, Robert (Erica) Medlen III of Merrill and Adam Knueppel of Kenosha; granddaughter, Stephanie Muir of Wausau; brother, Paul (Anne) Last of Illinois; half-sister, Barbara (Bill) Bowden of Illinois; grandpups, “Gizmo,” “S’More” and “Snickers;” great grandpups, “Sadie” and “Maverick;” and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Anthony Kreciak and her sister, Anne Heger.
In honoring Joan’s wishes, there will be no services. A private family gathering will be held at a later date.
