Tim Sandholm, age 66, of Merrill, passed away Wednesday, Oct. 8, 2014 at his home under the care of Aspirus Comfort Care & Hospice Services.
He was born Aug.14, 1948 in Wausau to the late Rubert J. and Betty J. (Hunger) Sandholm. On Aug. 18, 1973, he and Martha Wasser were united in marriage in Oshkosh.
Tim attended high school in Wausau. He went on to UW Oshkosh to earn his degree in Accounting. He was a CPA with his own business and also worked in several businesses in the Merrill, Oshkosh and Suring areas. Tim was active in community development by serving in the following organizations: Lincoln County Economic Development Corporation, Merrill Area Development Corporation, Merrill Action Corporation, Merrill Comprehensive Planning Task Force, Wisconsin Towns Association and Merrill Area Public Schools Board of Education. He also served as Treasurer of the Town of Harding. Tim loved being a member of the musical group Glory & Praise/Old Folks Singers. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, camping, bowling, golfing and skiing.
Survivors include his wife: Martha Sandholm, Merrill; two daughters: Beth Sandholm (Mitchell Graham), Yellowknife, NT, Canada, and Lisa Sandholm, Merrill; sister: Kathy (Tom) Schumacher, Wausau; two nieces: Lindsey Demler and April (Mike) Sanchez; good friend: Kris Berge, Merrill; many brothers & sisters-in-law and many dear friends and good neighbors; and loyal canine companions: Mischief & Coco. He was preceded in death by his parents.
Tim’s wishes were to have no services. The family would like to thank the staff and friends he made at Aspirus Comfort Care & Hospice, St. Clare’s and Marshfield Clinic.
