Merrill Arby?s set to open Nov. 1

Construction of a new Arby’s restaurant, attached to the Pine Ridge Mobil at the corner of Hwy. 64 and Pine Ridge Avenue, is well underway.
“The addition of an Arby’s franchise is good for the corner; Merrill didn’t need another burger restaurant,” stated owners Gary and Mary Schwartz. “We selected 10 franchises to explore. It would have been easy to build another A&W, and we were approved for others, but chose Arby’s because they aren’t in Lincoln County and for their growing, ‘not ready to coast’ attitude.”
This is one of the first new buildings with the new fresh, modern Arby’s look in the country and it’s the first in Wisconsin.
The manager of the new Arby’s is Ernie Stender, the Schwartz’s announced. “He comes to us with restaurant and managerial skills,” states Mary Schwartz. Assistant manager is Marvin Lockhart, who attended culinary school and has worked as a chef. Shift supervisor is Rebecca Born. Team members for full and part-time positions in all shifts will be hired with quality people from the area.
The kitchen equipment is arriving next week for installation. Opening of Arby’s is slated for Nov. 1.
