Discover Downtown Merrill will present the third annual Chili Blast event on Saturday, Sept. 27, from 10 a.m.-2 p.m. Spice up your day with a walking chili tasting tour in downtown Merrill.
This year’s Chili Blast has 10 businesses that will be hosting chili cooks throughout the downtown. Tasters can vote for their favorite chili at the end of the tour. The winner will receive $100, second place $75 and third place $50. The field of competitors will feature some new cooks along with past place winners Jim Beam, Kurt Wendt and Dawn Swan.
HAVEN will be holding a corn roast in the City Center parking lot and Skipper’s will offer free music. Other downtown businesses will also be offering various activities.
Tickets are $5 in advance at the Merrill Chamber of Commerce, or purchase your tickets the day of the event at the registration booth in front of Ace Hardware. Limited tickets are available.
