Margaret A. Bennish, age 74, of Merrill, died Monday, Sept. 15, 2014, at her home under the care of her family and Ministry Home Care Hospice.
Margaret was born Sept. 13, 1940, in Merrill, daughter of the late Geno and Florence (Knopps) Bosi. She married Anton Bennish on Jan. 17, 1959, in Rhinelander. He preceded her in death on April 30, 1983.
Margaret worked at Merrill Manufacturing for over 30 years and retired in 2005. She was a member of St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church, Merrill. Margaret enjoyed gardening, sewing, cooking, taking walks, and was a member of the ‘Hattitudes 2.’ She loved her sisters dearly and enjoyed shopping at garage sales and thrift stores with Nancy. Margaret always welcomed everyone into her home.
Survivors include her children, David (Serma) Bennish, of Gleason, Barbara (Gregory) Albright, of Gleason, Sherry (Russell) Paukner, of Merrill, and Glenn Bennish, of Gleason; ten grandchildren, Tabitha, Valerie, Brent, Alexis, Amanda, Charlie, Beth, Stephanie, Anthony, and Damon; five great-grandchildren, Dylan, Madison, Bryan, Brooklyn, and Lucas; and five sisters, Jean Goodell, of Bundy, and Nancy (Arthur) Drew, Kathy (Russ) Iwen, Darlene ‘Dolly’ (Lonnie) Tanck, and Karen (Brian) Grund, all of Merrill. Margaret was preceded in death by her parents, Geno and Florence Bosi; and a sister, Laurie Bosi.
The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at Noon, on Friday, Sept. 19, at St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church, Merrill. The Rev. Michael McLain will preside. Visitation will be from 9-11 a.m. Friday at the Taylor-Stine Funeral Home, Merrill.
