Ralph E. Boes, age 89, of Merrill, passed away on Monday, August 18, 2014 at Pine Crest Nursing Home, Merrill, under the care of his three children, the nursing home staff, and hospice services.
Ralph was born on February 13, 1925 to the late Edward and Helen (Leibiger) Boes. He married Margery Fox on September 9, 1950. She preceeded him in death on December 2, 2011. Ralph served in the United States Army in World War II. He worked for the US Postal Service for more than 30 years. Ralph was a member of the Disabled American Veterans. He was also an avid Packers fan, enjoyed playing cribbage, taking trips to the casino, and spending time with the family pets.
Ralph is survived by two daughters, Sandra Boes, of Madison, WI, and Terry Klug, of Merrill, WI; one son, Gary Boes, of Merrill, WI; three grandchildren, Sarah Wegner, of Ringle, WI, Kristy (Ryan) Yaeger, of Clintonville, WI, and Brett (Carmen) Klug, of Merrill, WI; and seven great-grandchildren, Ella, Eli, Evelyn, Jack, Lucy, Logan, and Mason. He was preceded in death by his wife, Marg; his parents; one brother, Rudy Boes; and one son-in-law, Tom Klug.
A visitation will be held from 4:00 P.M. to 7:00 P.M., Wednesday, August 20, 2014, at the Taylor-Stine Funeral Home, Merrill. A private graveside service will take place at a later date.
