Woman arrested after disturbance at campground

A 34-year-old Wausau woman is in the Lincoln County Jail and will face several charges after a disturbance in a campground in the Town of King late Saturday night. Deputies responded to the campground east of Tomahawk off of Sandy Lane after a 911 call reported the incident at 11:21 p.m. The victim told deputies she asked the woman to be quiet after they had returned from the tavern because they had been warned earlier in the evening about noise. When she did so, the suspect shoved the woman and then struck her in the head numerous times. The suspect also claimed to have been struck but she had no marks on her but the victim had swelling and abrasions consistent with the other witnesses who observed the incident. A check also showed the suspect was out on bond in Marathon County on two misdemeanor cases which require her to be sober, but a breath sample showed the woman’s blood alcohol level to be a .21. When told she was under arrest, the woman physically resisted the deputies and had to be restrained. She was brought to the Lincoln County Jail where she has been charged with battery, disorderly conduct, resisting arrest, two misdemeanor counts of bail jumping and probation violation. She will have a bond hearing on Monday in Lincoln County Court.
