Wendy Hope Sousek-Hallquist, age 51, of Merrill, passed away unexpectedly on July 14, 2014 at Sacred Heart Hospital in Tomahawk, WI. She was born June 29, 1963 in La Crosse to Farrell and Carol Sousek.
Wendy attended Sparta High School and was excited to play on the softball team. She was a free spirit to say the least. She was not shy and made sure you knew how she felt about you. The way she loved people and the amazing heartfelt attention she could show to the newest of friends represents who she truly was. There was nothing nearer and dearer to her heart than three little Grandbabies; Jaxon, Khloe, and Waylon. These three made her light up on the darkest of days and brought out her very best. Wendy loved listening to music…Jammin out! Nothing like a little Motley Crue, Extreme, or Michael Jackson to get you back on track.
Survivors include her four children: Mitch (Holly) Meider, Lindsey (Pat) Sousek-French, Brittany Hallquist, and Nick Sousek. Her Grandchildren: Jaxon Meider, Khloe Meider, and Waylon French. Eight siblings: Dean Sousek, Dan Sousek, Dave Sousek, Steve Sousek, Bob Sousek, Kris Schwartz, Tom Sousek, and Sue Sousek and many nieces and nephews that were like her own children. She was preceded in death by her father: Farrell Sousek and brother: Steve Sousek.
A memorial service will be held at Waid Funeral Home on Friday July 18, at 12:00 pm. Pastor Sue Christian will officiate. Visitation will be from 10 a.m.-12 p.m. before the service at the funeral home. Waid Funeral Home is assisting the family with the arrangements.
