Ruth E. Gaedeke, 95, of Wausau, formerly of the Town of Texas, died Tuesday, June 17, 2014, at the Hospice House in Wausau.
Ruth was born on October 19, 1918, in Merrill, the daughter of the late John and Alma (Rusch) Franz. She married Walter W. Gaedeke on March 16, 1946, in the Town of Pine River. He preceded her in death on December 3, 1993. Ruth had worked at the former Hanson Glove Factory, Merrill, and also Weinbrenner Shoe Company, Merrill. She was a member of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church, Town of Pine River. Ruth enjoyed spending time with her extended family.
Survivors include two sisters, Nathalie (Walter) Muschinske, of Weston, WI, and Audrey (David) Steffen, of Land O’Lakes, WI; a brother-in-law, Earl Plautz, of Wausau; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband; parents; one sister, Mildred Plautz; and one brother, John W. Franz.
The funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, June 23, 2014, at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church, Town of Pine River. The Rev. Greg Laska will officiate. Burial will take place in Merrill Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation will begin at 9:30 a.m. Monday at the church. The Taylor-Stine Funeral Home, Merrill, is assisting the family with arrangements.
