Plachetka in WVC
MHS sophomore defender Cassandra Plachetka caught the eye of Valley coaches this year and wound up as an Honorable Mention selection to the All-WVC team.
“I would describe her as a small little spitfire who should never be judged by her size,” MHS coach Steph Nelson said. “All great things come in small packages. She is fast and quick, smart on and off the ball, and she uses her body extremely well. It is extremely hard to get around her, and once you’re around her it’s even harder to stay there!
“Cassy actually got four votes for All-WVC this season which is more than Sydney (Harris) and Ashley (Millenbah) got last year combined. The Wausau East coach said as I was talking about her ‘I like the way she plays.’ She had a great year and she makes me so happy that she’s only a sophomore.”
